Name of Work:"Chamaenerion"
Third Line:Bullseye Glass Artists 2020

The ‘Chamaenerion’ vessel, has been inspired by the colours of the Rosebay Willowherb, which grows wildly along Britain’s roads. Ruth has been mesmerised by the constant changing appearance of this plant which flowers from June to September, from the pink flowers, to white fluffy down seeds, to coral seed pod and green stems. She has captured various aspects of these changes through extensive research and experiments. This kiln-formed glass vessel is shaped by heat and gravity which stretches the suspended glass to the floor of the kiln. This is then ground, polished and sandblasted into the finished vessel.
