"Labyrinthine Vlll"

Inspired by ancient mountain and rock formations, I aim to utilise the materiality of glass to evoke sensations of wonder in representing geological forms and imagery, and their ancient origins. In these three-dimensional wall panels, fine mark making and subtle highlights are revealed, through a series of kiln-forming processes, by exploiting the reactive properties of lead and sulphur-based glass powders. The processes themselves mimic natural geological rock forming processes of sedimentation, intrusion and metamorphism. Size: 84 cm H x 125 cm W x 3.5 cm D

Type of glass used: Bullseye powders and sheet glass

Type of kiln used: Kilncare Pro-Fuser
