"Marble Dunes"

I create objects of beauty that allude to the natural world, researching structural and decorative elements that combine the organic with the geometric, focusing on the formation of linear repeating patterns present in the natural world and how they can be distorted and abstracted when perceived from aerial perspectives. I translate these markings into designs to incorporate into layers, continuing to explore contrast between density and sparseness, simplicity of form, with complexity of interior. Monochromatic Marble Dunes is inspired by the work of 20th Century aerial photographer, William Garnett.

Type of glass used: Bullseye Tekta, Frit, and Stringers.
