"The Ocean's Gateway"

This work was made in response to the drowning of a 3 year old Syrian boy, Aylan Kurdi, of Kurdish background who was escaping Syria with his family across the Mediterranean Sea. Presently, we are living through some tumultuous times and there are many reasons why people would want to escape their homes, the more pronounced reasons in our current world are because of political unrest or even natural disasters. Many are faced with impossible decisions. For instance, deciding whether to stay in your native country that is being bombarded or escaping into the vast ocean via a simple boat. Many choose hope of a better life in a new country. The hope woven in our human nature. woven glass, stainless steel, candelabra LED - 22.5 x 8.75 x 9.5
