Name of Work:"concave form (#20)"
Third Line:Bullseye Glass Artists 2019

"concave form (#20)"

This work is kilnformed using an asymmetric drop-out technique. Material is opalescent, translucent, and reactive Bullseye glass. After the final firing, the form is coldworked, sandblasted, rim is hand-lapped, and the surface sealed. This is part of my equipoise series, using gravity to create forms that naturally balance at interesting angles. The surface pattern is a translation into glass of the dot-patterns pioneered in my ceramics work.

Type of glass used: bullseye

Type of kiln used: electric - Skutt programmable ceramics kilns
