"Edges from my mind"

This piece is made with float glass and glass enamels and mounted with a stand-off wooden block to Plexiglass. The glass tiles appear to float on the backing. I’ve cut the large tile’s edges with a wheel nipper to give it a serrated / burned like effect. I have layered the tile with other pieces of glass and used float compatible frit to create a lot of texture. The bottom part of the piece is different lengths of rectangular glass that mimics the unevenness of the edges of the top piece. The total size of the piece is 15x19 inches.

Type of glass used: Float glass

Type of kiln used: Van Tuyl clam shell kiln
