"Fragments of an Industrial Age"

Nottingham Lace forms basis for this body of work. It represents an Industrial Age that is now past combined with the archaic modes of gender that accompanied that period. My Nottingham lace vessel forms start with the creation of handmade lace moulds which are then cast with bullseye powders. Sometimes, I stain the surface with paint or with silver. I complete the vessels by cold working in order to play with the surface texture and levels of transparency. My vessels are very thin, yet strong and appear highly delicate yet with strong surface texture.
