"Chiroptera meets Lepidoptera"

This piece is a trio of coloured Bullseye frit glass Bats with the colours and patterns of three different types of butterflies. The glass was fused in an open top plaster mold, created with a layer of coloured frit, then clear frit to pack space, and to make them more robust a piece of 6mm water jet cut bat silhouettes. It is a piece looking at Phobia's and Fascination upon the same subjects, I enjoy the theme of contradiction, making my piece a personification of Lepidopteraophobia presented in my own Victorian style specimen display cabinet.

Type of glass used: Bullseye coloured frit

Type of kiln used: Kilncare
