"Prism Eye I"

The medium of fused glass lends itself to seeing and being seen. I like eyes, especially those that seem to follow the viewer; observing the observed. Dichroic glass lends the eye a reptilian look, so I have made the centre almost dragon-like, using powdered frit and a tiny shard of the dichroic for the catchlight. Microwave kilns bring their own challenges and add an element of chaos, worry and suspense to the creation of each piece, but the rewards (and the learning curve) are worth it.

Type of glass used: Black, Tekta, COE 90 compatible Black Frit, 5mm Rainbow Dichroic on Black, tiny piece of Rainbow Dichroic on Clear.

Type of kiln used: FuseWorks Microwave Kiln
